Welcome to the Intelligent Control Research Group web site!
The Intelligent Control Research Group has a rich and long history. It was founded almost ten years ago by Prof. Michail Petrov and Prof. Andon Topalov, from the department "Control Systems" at the Technical University of Sofia, branch Plovdiv, Bulgaria. During the past time, they have been an inspiring and a motivational force for their students to take the challenging road of science and research, which led the creation of this group, formed by their former students which became scientists and researchers. Recently, most of the group members have defended Doctoral degrees, as well as, two of them became Associate Professors.
The ICRG is involved with research in two main fields: Model Predictive Control and Sliding Mode Control adopting ideas and knowledge from fuzzy logic, neural networks and hybrid neuro-fuzzy systems. At present, we continue our extensive research on design and implementation of fuzzy-neural systems, sharing our knowledge and passion in contribution to development of modern and highly effective specialized control algorithms.
In the near future, we are expecting our new members; students, scientists, professionals and research groups to join our research activities, to share our ideas on common subjects and projects through fruitful cooperation to broaden our regions of knowledge contributing to economical development.
